We were thrilled to host a special book signing event with the amazing Lisa Lloyd, author of Raising the SEN-Betweeners — and known to many as Lisa ASD with a G and T on social media. The event was kindly hosted by the lovely team at Our Coffee Corner Co., who kept us fuelled with delicious coffee and a warm welcome — thank you so much for having us!

Lisa has become widely known for her funny, realistic, and down-to-earth content, and she’s a passionate advocate for equity in SEND. As co-founder of SEND Reform England, she continues to be a powerful voice for families and professionals alike, speaking openly and honestly about the realities of raising neurodivergent children.

Her book, Raising the SEN-Betweeners, shines a much-needed light on the highs, lows, and everything in between that so many families experience. It was incredible to see how much our members resonated with Lisa’s words — the laughter, the nods of recognition, and the emotional moments really highlighted how seen and supported many parents felt.

Raising the SEN-Betweeners is a heartfelt and candid exploration of parenting neurodivergent children — specifically those in the “in between” stage: children who aren’t considered severe enough for a specialist SEND school but who also struggle to cope in a mainstream setting. It’s a stage that’s often misunderstood and unsupported, yet deeply familiar to many parents of autistic, ADHD, and otherwise neurodivergent children.
